Never Mind the Millionaires. Here’s Advice From Billionaires

Wishful thinking alone is insufficient to get any job done. “All you need is a dollar and a dream” is typical of the mindset of those who visualize themselves as wealthy. Rather, a lottery ticket allows you to to imagine yourself as rich for a few minutes, but statistically speaking, neither the lottery nor the visualizations … Continue reading Never Mind the Millionaires. This is the first look at Nvidia’s wild new 750,000 sq ft building

Nvidia is preparing a new, massive building in Santa Clara, CA and this is it. Called Voyager, it will be larger than the building Nvidia just finished constructing by 250,000 square feet. And just like the other building, Endeavor, Voyager will share the same wild, distinctly Nvidia design. Nvidia opened the first building, Endeavor, in … Continue reading This is the first look at Nvidia’s wild new 750,000 sq ft building

Zhihu: a Question-and-Answer platform

The relationship between time, money, and happiness

The older I get, the more I’m convinced that time is money (and money is time). We’re commonly taught that money is a “store of value”. But what does “store of value” actually mean? It’s a repository of past effort that can be applied to future purchases. Really, money is a store of time. (Well, … Continue reading The relationship between time, money, and happiness

Remote procedure call

In distributed computing, a remote procedure call (RPC) is when a computer program causes a procedure (subroutine) to execute in a different address space (commonly on another computer on a shared network), which is coded as if it were a normal (local) procedure call, without the programmer explicitly coding the details for the remote interaction. … Continue reading Remote procedure call

Why a daily habit of reading books should be your priority

Twenty six percent of adults in the United States have not read even a portion of a book within the last year. It's an unfortunate reality considering that researchers have found that consuming the written word is exceptionally good for people. Here's what studies have found. Reading fiction helps you be more open-minded. It's because … Continue reading Why a daily habit of reading books should be your priority
